On Pinterest
With the rest of the world, I am very much in love with Pinterest. But since it completely blew up into an internet sensation over the past couple of months there has been a lot of commotion and hysteria regarding copyright issues (enlightened over at the WSJ Law Blog). It's kind of scary and some people have even started deleting their Pinterest accounts, or any and all pins that don't link back to the original source. Reminds me a little bit of the whole Napster era and free downloads back in the day. It still appears to be a gray area, since if not commercially benefiting from a pin, it appears you may fall within the "fair use" or "for commentary" exception. In any event, it will all be very pinteresting to see when it is ruled upon and how it will potentially affect the Pinterest we all know and love.
I always felt, and still feel, it is a great thing to have someone pin an image or content from my blog. I love that people see something they like so much on my site that they would want to share with the rest of the world. But some people for whatever reason are very protective of their images and photos and just do not want them out there.
Having said all this, Mumma's Corner is definitely pinterest-friendly and I am happy to see anyone pin anything from my little corner of the world. I saw these buttons at The Paper Mama that I now use on my sidebar and thought I'd share so that whenever someone is visiting your site, they know whether its okay or not okay to pin from it.
Also, I finally figured out how to add a "pin it" button to the end of your posts so your readers can easily pin something from your blog and automatically have the link-back on said image. If you try to copy/paste the code on Pinterest you will find that it does not work on blogger, so here is how you do it on your blogspot:
Step 1:
In your Blogger Dashboard, Click "Design" > "Edit HTML" > Click the box that reads "Expand Widget Template"
Lastly, if you want to add some "follow me" Pinterest buttons to your site like the ones below, you can find them at Pinterest Goodies where you can easily select the image you want, copy the code, paste it onto the html/javascript gadget, and place wherever you want it to appear on your blog.

Guest post and new blog to love, Heather von St James
I've recently had the pleasure of working with this remarkable and courageous woman and mother, Heather von St James. Shortly after her daughter was born, she found out she had cancer, with a fatality rate of 90-95%. Over the past year I have been touched by a number of people battling this awful disease and people who are coping with a loved one's battle. In the spirit of awareness, faith, and reverence, I am so happy to share her story here:
I’ve always been accused of being an optimist. Optimism, a trait that never served me better until I was diagnosed with cancer. At the age of 36, I realized that I would be fighting for my life. On Nov 21, 2005, I was diagnosed with malignant pleural mesothelioma, just 3 1/2 short months after giving birth to my only child. You never expect a diagnosis like that, let alone in, what seems to be, the happiest time of your life. Those three, little words... “You Have Cancer.” At that moment, I had a choice. I could give up, wallow in self pity and cry out “WHY ME GOD!?” Or I could battle cancer head on; and that is what I did. I did what any new mom would do, I fought to live for my baby.
Cancer is truly a double-edged sword. Most cancer survivors will say the same thing. It is the worst thing that can happen, but in but in a way... it can be a good thing. My life is forever changed for the better because of it. Maybe it's because I chose not to be the victim or because I chose to make light of a dreadful situation. I just wanted the fear to fade away. I vowed that I wanted to help others diagnosed with cancer. I wanted to give them hope, because that is the first thing that people lose. Whatever the reason, I chose to find the good in my situation, and I began my battle against cancer.
First, I was referred to the world's leading mesothelioma doctors, who gave ME hope that I could beat this thing... I nicknamed my tumor Punxsutawney Phil, after learning that I was going to have the tumor removed on Groundhog Day, 2006. We renamed Groundhog Day "Lungleavin Day", since it was the day my lung left. Every year we have a party to celebrate Lungleavin Day. It's a celebration of life, conquering fear, being positive and maintaining hope.
More than I lost, I gained from having cancer. I met the most amazingly strong and passionate people through this experience. I met people, who were committed to bringing about an awareness to a disease that, previously, lacked public education. I met wives, husbands, sons, and daughters, all of which had been affected by mesothelioma. I would not know any of them if it were not for my own battle with cancer. Bits of Life Lately
Still enjoying this gorgeous weather. Lots of fun @ the playground. Obsessed with going down slides all by himself now. Turning into such a big kid....
Too much fun in the sun. More beautiful sunrises from our bedroom window. Outdoor patio dinners. Storytime before bedtime w/ Dada.
Sporting his new Tiny Toms so another baby in Africa can have a pair. He's very philanthropic.
The next Mozart @ Great-Grandma Bauman's house. Feeding the geese @ Flick Park (this was definitely the highlight of Landon's week, maybe life, so far). Playdates with Steven + Sue. Getting back to some emails and baby business before the busy workweek ahead.

Okay so I thought the original was good...until I heard this cover on Alt Nation last week. And just YouTube'd it now to find out that these guys are ALL PLAYING ON THE SAME GUITAR. Love.
Beach Babes in March?
Umm okay...it's 80 degrees and sunny on March 18. Yes, I love this weather. Yes, I am pumped spring (summer?) came early. And yes, Landon & I were geared up to hit the beach at 8am this morning, but honestly, am I the only one a little freaked out by this?? I'm calling a 150 degree heat index with molten lava showers this summer. And I'm also pretty sure the Mayans got it right. #12/21/12
In any event.....I'm sure you are dying to know how I spent this beautiful day:
7am: Woke up on my own while L was still fast asleep. Showered, made coffee, checked email. Packed lots of snacks & sand toys for our big day of fun in the sun.
8:30am: On our walk to the beach when I made a last minute executive decision for some playground fun first.
11am: That turned out to be an excellent decision because after 2 hours of running around, sliding, swinging, exploring, & flirting, Little L was passed out by the time we arrived @ the beach & I got to bask & relax in the sun for a good 45 minutes. Mwahahaha. #Secretsofasupermom.
12pm: The little monster awakes and has no idea where he is and is totally freaked out by the sand. I like this because he wants to sit on top of me and holds onto me like he really loves me.
12:30pm: I plop him down on the beach towel in front of a bucket of water and toys and he forgets about his fear of the sand and splashes his life away for a good couple hours. And he eats. And eats, and eats, and eats. The kid had the appetite of a truck driver and it was the first day ever that I ran out of food for him. But we had a sweet little picnic and he lovingly shared his snacks and it was then I knew I was raising a true gentleman.
2pm: The babes start to clear out and in swarmed wild adults with beers and footballs and we decide to call it a day. Got home at 3 and Landon went down for another nap and is still sleeping right now.
Oh, and my forehead is sunburned. In March.
So when my beach buddy wakes up I'm thinking we might go down to our sun deck and grill out for the first time this year...or maybe we'll hit Chinatown for a mama-son dinner date and some 'goons.

Last week in iphone pics
Last weekend @ a friend's wedding downtown @ Prairie Productions. It was 75 degrees outside & a gorgeous day to watch two friends tie the knot. It was actually such a fun wedding that they ended up running out of hard alcohol & open mic/band ensued which was pretty awesome.
I received Cassandra's Angel in the mail as part of L's Easter gift and love it. It is a touching tale with a beautiful moral for young children and adults alike and it made me cry the first time I read it out loud to Landon, which means you should probably go out and get it. I also decided to kickoff the spring with painting my nails pastel, which I am a huge fan of. Landon is already taking after his dad with his love for football, and looking like the next blonde Tom Brady here. Annnd I captured a beautiful sunset at the end of another gorgeous day.
Decided to drive to Austin, Texas for South by Southwest music festival. (Which I probably won't ever do again).
First stop - Memphis! Went to Beale Street for dinner. It was definitely a rad place and would love to go back and spend more time there.
Back on the road again. & celebrating my birthday at midnight with my hubby.
Finally in Austin :) Me trying to be hipster. *Sweet hipster shades snagged @ H&M for only $5 bucks! Saw some cool new bands - Kopecky Family Band at the DYN party and Semiprecious Weapons @ the Hard Rock party. Check 'em out :)
& then I flew back home on Friday to pick up this little boy ♡

A Sneak Peak Into L's Second Birthday Bash
I am well aware that it's 3 months away but I have tons of ideas running already for Landon's Second Birthday. I actually swore the morning after his First that I wasn't going to throw another party next year...but here we are and I'm pretty excited. I definitely do not want it to be as extravagant, costly, or as stressful as last year's was, but am hoping to make it more chill, like your every day backyard barbeque.
Here are my thoughts so far, thanks in large part to Pinterest (follow me!) Going back and forth as to if I will do a theme...and if so, if it'll be Toy Story, Thomas the Train, Sesame Street, or Monsters. Oh decisions, decisions ;) Regardless, here's where my wheels have been turning:
